NAME: Mike Lawrance
COMPANY NAME: M-Squared Contracting Inc
YEARS IN OPERATION: 2 yrs in Toronto
High-End residential construction – From additions to full remodels and custom builds
A LITTLE SOMETHING ABOUT YOURSELF:
Background in project management. Previous company in Vancouver for many years. Relocated to Toronto to be back home! Father of two young boys, who are thrilled to be surrounded by family again.
THE BIGGEST JOB YOU’VE EVER DONE:
Tricky question… For dollar value – Probably 1.6 Million. This reno was an absolute contemporary build. 10 months and a very challenging design. It was awesome.
A FUNNY/STRANGE THING HAPPENED ON THE JOB SITE:
Maybe not appropriate, but everyone in the company has 4G iPhones. So some of the videos that circulate are definitely You Tube material. Like Bryan’s creative use of a bucket video.
THE MOST IMPORTANT THING FOR A PERSON TO KNOW BEFORE HIRING A RENOVATOR/CONTRACTOR:
Who the builder is currently working for and recently worked for. Talk with those individuals and get a feel budget adherance and performance. Be clear on expectations and spend time on pre-construction planning.
ANY FAMOUS CLIENTS?:
Depends on your version of famous… Angelina Jolie hasn’t called yet.
THE FUTURE OF RENOVATION IN THE GTA LOOKS LIKE THIS:
Have you seen the homes in the GTA? There’s lots of work and those who deliver as promised will consistently be busy
